I went shopping with my Japanese friend today.
I couldnt find any clothes/shoes I like as usual... but I bought really cute birthday card.
I have no idea who I'm gonna give the card but my friend was like "Just buy it everyone has a bday once a year anyway!!"
After shopping, we had Japanese food and we were soooooooo happy to eat that :)
We missed Japanese food so much!!
今日は友達と買い物に行ってきた♪
いつも通り、靴や服は好きなものを見つけられなかったけど、めちゃくちゃ可愛いバースデーカードを買ったよ。
誰にあげるかわかんないけど、友達が「買っちゃいなよ、どうせみんな1年に1回は誕生日が来るんだし。」って言うから、まぁいっか。
ショッピングのあとは、日本料理を食べに行ったよ。
2人共日本料理がめっちゃ恋しかったから、すっごい幸せだった★

I have a stash of cards for different occasions (i.e. Birthday, Christmas, Valentine, etc), as well as a few under $50CDN small items that I buy and store. Just in case somebody has a birthday or some special occasion, you never know when it will be useful.
I do the same when I go on vacation and buy a few souvenirs and when people ask, I tell them I was thinking of them and buy something for them! haha... works great on girls! (Opps! secret is out... haha please don't tell anyone)
I just want to say that I totally agree with your friend. Sometimes I go in to a store and find something really cute which I'm not sure if it's going to be useful. I end up buying it, most of the times and find it useful long time after^^

I totally understand how u feel!! I cook Japanese food sometimes but some of them I can't cook... (if my boyfriend's aunt doesn't cook, I would cook Japanese food everyday haha)
