Today's words:
Noun: よい：evening
Noun: す：nest/den
Verb: てる：to shine
My practice sentence:
よいに、月はとりのすの上でてります。
In the evening, the moon shines above the birds’ nests.

Corrections:よいよるに、月はとりのすの上でてります光ります。
(new word: 光る = to glitter/sparkle)

That makes sense, I learned it in a list of common words in Japanese novels. So it's good to know for reading, but not for speaking. :)
"Glitter" is like "sparkle". It's for small shiny things (stars, water, diamonds, maybe broken glass?).

夕べ（ゆうべ, evening but also means "last night")
well, ikr. its hard to picture the situation where you can use them if there is no context. haha so I suppose what you are doing, posting and asking some feedbacks from the native stuff, is good way to learn even if its a bit time-consuming.
宵(よい) means basically early nigh but I have a feeling its a kinda literary expression. You might be better off not using it in casual conversation. And what you wrote about 夜 and 夕べ is all right.

I never heard of the word "glitter" tho we use 光る(ひかる) to both for stars and the moon. there is another verb "輝く(かがやく)" tho I think this one is like "glitter". its used for diamond, stars stuff like that.

So far I have found three different texts that teach three different words:
宵（よい evening or "early night hours")
夜（よる、night)
夕べ（ゆうべ, evening but also means "last night")
That's the danger of learning without context, right? Now I need to figure out the precise differences.
光る means "to glitter" yes? That's probably better for stars.
Im not that good at japanese grammar tho here is some little tips
夜に、月は鳥の巣の上で光ります。
you could say よい(宵) instead of よる(夜) but 夜 sounds more natural to me.
It means both evening and night.
てる is normally used together with sun 太陽(たいよう).
In that sentence, I reckon 光る(ひかる) is more appropriate.
