Three Rs

In my school, we are currently having a science fairwith the theme of `saving the earth'.
There were many ecology related decorations hung up, and one of them was the `Reuse, Reduce, Recycle' poster. Looking at that poster, I decided I will do a small servey: `What do you think is the most important? Reuse, Reduce, or Recycle?'
I surveyed classmates, teachers, and some schoolmates. The result showed that a majority of the people thinks that `Reuse' is most important. The second was `Recycle', and the third was `Reduce'.
Truthfully, this result was pretty much what I expected. There wasn`t a single person who answered that Reducing is the most important.
When I asked them "Why not Reduce?", most of them said that "Reducing isn`t a effective way of handling trash. The best way is to use them again and again."
Is this truly so? Isn`t it better to lessen our consumptions and wastes? I believe that it`s a very simple logic: it`s because we are creating wastes that we harm our environment.
It`s true that the country needs to keep the economy moving and for that, people need to consume more. However, I often talk with my parents about that topic: what is the disavantage of keeping economy going?
Since I live in a developing country, I often see huge gaps between the world of those who are rich and those who are poor. The rich has enough to eat and even throw away food since they can`t finish it. The poor, on the other hand, lives a life where they don`t even know if they can buy tomorrow`s dinner.
I`ve seen the influences that the developed countries have on Philippines.
I love my home country for its greenry. There are less forests in Philippines so I like looking at forests back in Japan. However, why does Japan have lush forests despite its huge consumption of trees? I`ve learned recently that the barren hills of Philippines were once green until developed countries started buying the trees.
Food is not an exeption. I`ve seen people who used to live on shrimps few years ago change to eating cup noodles which ruin their health despite the fact that they are producing more shrimps than that of few years ago. I`ve not seen shrimps on the market much as well.
Where, then, does all the shrimp go? I`ve learnt that those also go to the developed countries to eat in cheap prices few years ago. This is just one of the cases, and there are more.
I`ve read a article that said that there are enough food for everybody in the world. Yet, the developed countries are the ones that are getting most of it despite their falling population while the underdeveloped countries get less despite their growing population. Why is this occuring?
Can`t we save lives as well as the enviroment by reducing our consumptions?
Although this is a stupidly idealistic way of thinking, I believe that we can improve the lives of those in poverty if we can share our fortunes. If everybody had equal amount of evrything, nobody will starve.
When I visited China for the first time, 20 years ago, people brought a bag anywhrer because no shops gave us a bag to put things we bought in.
I had to wrap a present by myself, since goods at even department stores weren't wrapped.
I found a lot of things which used again and again at local people's house.
Now, the country was changed.
Any shops hand me a plastic bag.
I don't have to wrap any presents by myself.
A trush cans in ordinaly homes are piled up with trush.
Economics changing is so rapid.
I think it's the waste of resources; I don't think it's a really good idea!
Reusing is good for me. :D
I mean, they always high risk about death.
So, their eyes so different like us.
It's my first time hearing about the three Ks. I'll keep that in mind! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me!

I'm happy somebody agrees with me. I was taught by my parents that reducing is most important, then reusing, and at last, recycling! :D
I'm also interested in this kind of topic. I don't like seeing people who have and who have not. That's just not fair!
I would choose "reduce" first, then "reuse" and "recycle". As you said, I believe we can live without so much comsumption, thus reduce the wastes. :D
it's mean "dirty" "dangerous" "tough".
日本語では 汚い、危険、きついとされる仕事.
Japanese expert just cutting the tree only. they are protecting. And don't until bottom.
but even couldn't keep demand? people. So you can feel and see.
Then what should we do? this answer already we have.
I can't choice which is best.
well..it's so difficulty.
