Nicotto Town

A potluck party

I was invited to a potluck party with six of my friends yesterday. We became friends when our children were two or three years old.

As we wanted our kids to play outside rather than being inside when young, we decided not to send them to kindergartens but to look after them in turn.
There was also an experienced great teacher, so we asked her to take them out three days a week to the parks, the river....wherever there was nature.
Our kids had a great time and we've had a good friendship since then.
We know each kid better than anyone else!

We got together for the first time in a couple of years.
We laughed a lot even when talking about serious matters.
One of us said, "I haven't laughed this much for many years!"

We had a blast!

Hi arie!
Yep! We think the same thing at the same, feel exactly the same..... they happen so many times as if we were twins. :D

It's really nice that we won't have another snowfall this weekend.
I especially feel happy for you! :D

Hi, Carrie!

What a coincidence!
I just wanted to quote the saying in the last message but refrained from citing it because I thought it'd deviate from what you mean in your message.
It's really incredible that we have so much in common and you always take the words right out of my mouth before I tell you what I actually mean.

To change the subject, I'm very happy that we won't have another snowfall tomorrow.
We still have a lot of snow piled up and unmelted in every nook and cranny on the street, so another snowfall will certainly disturb our natural traffic flow in our daily life.

Have a nice evening.

GM arie!
You took the words right out of my mouth. I'd like to send you the same message to you.
I always envy you having nice people around you. :D
There's a saying.....umm...I can't remember exactly, but it has the words like " the birds flock together".
"類は友を呼ぶ"
Would you mind telling me the maxim, Mr.treasure house? :D

It must be a wonderful class for the kids! It sounds like the ideal type of society that everyone should make. :D

Hi, Carrie!

You're a great magnet to attract a lot of congenial friends.
You must have been born into this world with some supernatural power to magnetize nice people around you.
Besides, you continue improving yourself in many aspects of your life, which in turn attracts more and more respectable people to you.
I'd really like to emulate you.

Hi arie!
Many thanks for your another message. :D
I've never thought you gave me another comment yesterday, so I almost missed it!

You're right! Probably I've been too active and already encountered almost all the respectable people I must see in this world.
I almost lost contact with those friends I mentioned on my blog, but they returned to my life again!
One of them is very congenial, and we'll meet up again soon.
As you said, there must be some meaning...

Thanks for your concern. The teacher has cancer, stage four.
I know some doctor who can heal cancer completely, but it's difficult to tell her and make her believe in what I say.
I did my hand healing to her.
You know what? One of my yoga friend had cancer this month and I sent her my energy six times, then the cancer disappeared! Her cancer was a minor one, though.

Oh, I can't stop writing!
Got to go. My younger son's returning home from his trip soon.

Thanks again for your lovely message, arie. :D

Thanks, K!
Yep! We can talk whatever in our minds without hesitation.
Our talk was also kind of funny. So we laughed a lot. :D

Hi, Carrie!

I really do hope the teacher of your children will get well as soon as possible.
It's nice to have an opportunity to get to know a lot of people you admire in every stage of your life.
The more active you are, the more opportunities you will have to encounter respectable people in the course of your life.
Each person we get to know in this world has some meaning to our life, doesn't it?

Hi arie!
Thanks for sharing your get-together with your friends and ex-students. :D
I don't think your neighbors would be annoyed by the cheerful sounds you make. I like listening to people laughing and talking happily!

Truth to tell, the great teacher of our kids has been hospitalized and I went to see her today.
I saw some other members of our group there; there are 130 of us all told. I only know 20 of them or so, though.
So there was another kind of get-together today!

I might go to Hakone to bath in the hot springs tomorrow. :D

Hi Eri!
As you said, we are good friends, though I don't normally get contacted with them.
There were several groups; we looked after our children rather than sent them to kindergartens, and it's called "jishu hoiku" .
"Jishu hoiku" has been very popular around this area! :D

Hi, Carrie!

I think it's always a good idea to have a potluck party and enjoy sharing out what each participants has brought to the get-together.
More than anything else, it's really nice that you've had such good friends as you can enjoy having a friendly get-together in a casual manner.
Personally, we sometimes invite our close friends or my former students to our place and enjoy having a barbecue or a gyoza party in our garden.
We don't mind opening our house and invite our friends and former students, but we're always worried about an annoying noise we make to our neighbors on such occasions, even though we tell them in advance that we might make a nuisance to them in many ways.

Carry, thanks for reminding me of our enjoyable potluck parties.
I hope you've fully enjoyed your familiar get-together and renewed your friendships with them.

You had another good time with your friends.
How nice!
I was surprised to know you and your friends didn't send your kids to kindergartens!
You can't do it without good companies.
They must be your real friends.
